So, I’m about to go in to a meeting at work, but I just had to come by and say that I am SO Hungry! I’m not sure why I constantly feel hungry, but man, this is hard.

So far, for breakfast I had a bowl of Crunchy Raisin Bran cereal with Almond milk, and 1 corn tortilla with refried beans and cheese.  About an hour and a half ago I ate 4 Saltine crackers. I just at an Apple.  I’ve had 3 cups of water. But I still have this urge to put food in my mouth and my tummy keeps saying it’s hungry!

I’ve got to find SOMETHING to help this. Maybe Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem. I’m not sure, but I need help!

Keep drinking water. It keeps hunger at bay for a little bit. So every time you feel hungry but it’s not time to eat, just drink some water.

I’ve also read that snacks like nuts and things that are high in fiber and/or protein are good, because you feel fuller longer.

I like to use oranges or watermelon, as they give you something for your stomach without being caloric. Also, an asian diet is generally touted as being very healthy. Not fried chinese food, but fresh or sauteed veggies, tofu, noodles, rice, and lots of fruits.

In terms of being hungry–it’s not bad to be hungry. Don’t develop an avoidance of food, just recognize that the body has exhausted what you’ve done before in the current way.

The best way I’ve found to lose weight is to graze. Most people eat set meals then snack all day long. Rather than that, rate your hunger. 1 means you haven’t eaten for a long time and you could eat your own left foot. 10 means you’ve just feasted and your stomach is in danger of popping. People get hungry around a 4, and begin to be satiated around a 6. If you have SMALL meals to suit this at whatever time you’re hungry, you’re going to find that this diet is consistent and keeps you full without overeating.

Exercise can’t be overlooked either. Get active. Do things you enjoy or train for things you will enjoy. Examples from my life: I love canoeing, so any chance I get I do it. It’s exercise. However, to train for canoing I work my upper body (back, abs, chest, arms, and neck) to ensure that that when I go canoing it isn’t going to kill me the next day, thus lessening the enjoyment. I want to enjoy things the most I can :-). Whatever you do, try to do something 20 minutes to 45 minutes a day. Less than that and your body only burns what you have in you. More than that and you are exhausting yourself. You can do it. Good luck! Let me know how I can help.

Youre on the right track girl….keep it up!

Based on your height, weight and age, you need about 1800 calories to MAINTAIN your current weight. Anything less than that and you will loose some weight, but I wouldnt go drastically low. 1300 calories and you’ll loose about a pound a week, more than that if you are exercising about 45 minutes to an hour a day 3-5 days a week.
I dont recommend going much lower than 1300 though, since your body will go into a self preservation mode and you’ll maintain your weight rather than loose.

Keep it up you’ll get to your goal no doubt!
